I made this bear in 2020, inspired by the abuse of cats in foster care in the Toronto area. A group of us volunteers drove to London and rescued twenty unattended cats from a house, and one of them, Xingxiu, passed away due to poor health, leaving her owner very sad. So I made this bear to commemorate this cat because in Chinese Xingxiu means “star”, Xingxiu is forever held in the bear's hand, which means that in my heart she will always be with us just like the stars in the sky, and we can see her every night!
